High-flying casino fraudster Tessa Grant has been sentenced to seven years and eight months in prison at the Hamilton District Court today.
The 41-year-old former finance manager stole $2.8 million from former employers SkyCity Hamilton and the Waikato Diocesan School for Girls between 2008 and 2015.
She used the proceeds from fraudulent cheques and invoices to fund a lavish lifestyle including property, designer jewellery and a horse float.
Grant cried as she was handed a non-parole period of three years and nine months, according to reports.
Grant worked for SkyCity Hamilton from 2006 to 2014, initially as a finance executive before being promoted to general manager.
Investigators looked back at the accounts after Grant pleaded guilty in a separate case of defrauding Waikato's Diocesan school for girls of $800,000.
In April 2017, Grant pleaded not guilty to the SkyCity fraud.
