Huge beds and big-screen TVs - the future of premium travel has been launched
Singapore Airlines has revealed its new-look cabin products for all classes, but the new first-class suite drew most attention at Thursday's launch in Singapore
At a function that also included a Disney-like performance from Singapore Airlines cabin crew and choir, airline management spoke of the importance of delivering fresh premium products.
The new-look suite has a 51cm-wide leather swivel chair, a large bed, an 81cm touch-screen HD television, as well as a wardrobe and mood lighting.
The airline also said wifi may become free to premium, business and first-class passengers in the near future.
The first flight with the new configuration and suites will take place between Singapore and Sydney in December.
Following the decision from premium airline Emirates to reduce its presence in New Zealand, Singapore Airlines has taken the opposite approach. It is currently working with Air New Zealand on improving the links between the two countries.
