A lucky Lotto player has won a life-changing $42 million prize in Wednesday night's enormous Powerball draw.
The winnings were bagged by a single person, making it the second-largest Lotto prize ever struck in New Zealand. Countdown Pōkeno in Waikato was where the winning ticket was sold.
Wednesday night's numbers were 2, 3, 4, 7, 19, 31. The bonus ball was 8 and the Powerball was 9.
The Strike numbers were 4, 19, 3 and 31.
"This year is shaping up to be a lucky one for Powerball players, with 16 Kiwis winning big with Powerball so far this year," said Kirsten Robinson of Lotto NZ.
"We can't wait to congratulate our newest overnight multi-millionaire."
Live Lotto draws aren't taking place while Auckland remains under COVID-19 alert level 3 restrictions due to health and safety. Instead, Lotto is using computer-generated draws.
