Petrol prices have been steadily rising throughout 2022, with the cost at the pump well inflated compared to this time last year.
The average national fuel price for 91 octane as of June 17 (latest available data) was $3.05, according to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) - up 7 cents on the previous week.
June 17's national average represented a nearly 39 percent increase from June 18 last year, when the average 91 price was $2.20, as per MBIE data.
Will Curtayne, a portfolio manager at Milford Asset Management, predicted last week that petrol prices could fall - given Crude oil prices have dropped in the US.
Still, the price of 91 remained above $3 per litre for many parts of New Zealand.
To help swerve some of the higher prices, Newshub has put together the cheapest petrol stations for some of New Zealand's biggest cities - as per price-tracking app Gaspy on Tuesday, June 28.
