Person in Orewa wins $23.3 million in Lotto's powerball first division

A person in Orewa won big in Lotto's Powerball first division on Wednesday night, taking home $23.3 million.

Their winning ticket, sold at Orewa Lotto Plus marks the fourteenth Powerball multi-millionaire of 2022.

Their win follows an $8.2 million win in Kaikoura last month.

The Kaikoura winner told Lotto they are planning to travel overseas and invest in their family's future.

Two other Lotto players will be celebrating too after taking home $333,333 with Lotto's first division.

The winning tickets were both sold in Christchurch at Burnside Dairy and Hornby Mall Lotto.

Lotto's 'strike must be won' draw of $1 million was shared by 128 players who each pocketed $8,553.

Lotto is urging anyone who brought tickets from the listed stores to check their ticket as soon as possible.
