One lucky Auckland Lotto player will be on cloud nine after winning $1 million with First Division on Saturday night.
The winning ticket was sold at Avondale Foodmarket in Auckland.
Powerball was not struck on Saturday and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $30 million.
Meanwhile, another lucky Auckland player will also be waking up richer on Sunday morning after winning $200,000 with Strike Four.
The winning Strike ticket was sold on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.
"Anyone who bought their ticket from the above store or on MyLotto should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto, or through the MyLotto App," a Lotto spokesperson said.
Twenty-five lucky Lotto players will also be enjoying a boost to their bank account after each winning $17,282 with Second Division on Saturday night.
Three lucky players also won Powerball Second Division, taking their total winnings to $27,507.
The winning Powerball Second Division tickets were sold at Countdown Takanini in Auckland, New World Halswell in Christchurch and on MyLotto to a player from Auckland.
The other winning Second Division tickets were sold at stores in Northland, Whangārei, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Whanganui, Foxton, Lower Hutt, Christchurch City and in the Christchurch region.
With Powerball climbing to an incredible $30 million for Wednesday night, Lotto is encouraging players to get in early, by picking up a ticket before draw day or early on Wednesday, to avoid the busiest times both in-store and online.
It comes after Powerball has rolled over since the last giant win in June when a lucky Christchurch couple banked a colossal $33.5 million. They kept their ticket in a sock drawer for over a week before claiming their prize.
"I kept thinking, 'Goodness, I better make sure the iron is turned off' every time I went out!" said the woman.
It was Aotearoa New Zealand's third-biggest Powerball win ever.
"At all times, Lotto NZ encourages our customers to play a little, dream a lot. We know high jackpots can be exciting but remember – it only takes one ticket to win," the spokesperson said.
