Lotto says a single ticket for Wednesday's First Division prize worth a hefty $1 million was sold in Thames.
The winning numbers for the jackpot were 9, 11, 16, 17, 29 and 30. The ticket was sold at Thames' Martina Four Square.
But the $20 million Powerball prize was not struck and would roll over to $23 million on Saturday, Lotto said in a statement late on Wednesday.
While big, that jackpot was still some distance away from the largest seen in a Powerball draw. In Dairy Flat in 2016, the jackpot was $44 million - the biggest-ever prize won by an individual ticket.
Meanwhile, four lucky winners from Te Awamutu, Hamilton, Rotorua and Thames would each take home $28,071 from Powerball Second Division.
Those winning tickets were sold at:
- Woolworths Te Awamutu
- New World Hillcrest
- Ngongotaha Books Lotto & Posts,
- Martina Four Square & Lotto.
Fifteen players also won $22,215 each with Lotto second division.
Those winning tickets were sold at:
"Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores should check their ticket as soon as possible in-store, on MyLotto or through the MyLotto App," a spokesperson said.
