A "glitch" with Kiwibank's transactions left some customers scratching their heads on Wednesday, but the bank says the issue has been fixed.
A Kiwibank spokesperson told Newshub there were problems with the bank's ATM transactions not working earlier in the day.
"During this period, Kiwibank card and Paywave transactions were working, however we temporarily placed limits on some customer transactions," they said.
"The issue is now resolved."
The spokesperson apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused. Some of those customers shared on social media about their interesting experiences trying to buy items this morning.
"Is anyone else experiencing a glitch in Kiwibank, $0.00 funds but swipe and paid?" said one person on Facebook.
Kiwibank ATMs weren't letting customers withdraw cash, they said; however they could get cash out at a nearby dairy instead.
"It worked, that's how I noticed my money wasn't taken so I transferred the lot and it was on $0.00 [and then I] went to buy something [at the dairy and] it paid," they added.
"I just done a mean shopping and my money's still there," a second person commented.
"My normal card wouldn't work. Had to use paywave," said another.
