Wednesday night's unbelievable $43 million Lotto Powerball has not been won - and will likely grow into the biggest lottery prize ever won in Aotearoa.
The jackpot will roll over to Saturday's draw, but it can't keep rolling over forever.
According to Lotto's official Powerball Jackpot Policy, the total Division One prize pool (after which no extra additions to the money pot can be made) is $50 million.
Plus, the number of games played before the prize pool can't grow anymore is 52 games, which play out over the course of about six months (twice weekly).
If Powerball reaches the limit of $50 million, or the number of games hits 52-in-a-row without winners, then the prize must be won.
Wednesday night's numbers are: 13, 15, 23, 22, 33, and 2, with bonus ball 32. Powerball is 3.
If won, it would have become Lotto's second-biggest Powerball prize in history.
The jackpot has been steadily building since an astonishing $30m prize was won in April.
Before that, the next-biggest prize was $37 million, won in August last year, while in October 2021, one lucky player took home $42m.
The top Powerball prize ever was $44 million, won in November 2016.
