Three Bay of Plenty women will appear in court tomorrow, charged with possession to supply psychoactive substances.

On Saturday, police found 11kg of substances being divided into 2g bags in a Tauranga motel room, and the women, aged 20, 39, and 51, were subsequently arrested.

Police say they are continuing to investigate what appears to be an "organised criminal operation".

They would not disclose the name of the motel, but say its staff and owners had "no knowledge" of what was happening in the room.
