While some people are making a point of staying inside during the winter blast hitting New Zealand, Spike the Jack Russell is doing the opposite, making the most of a rare blanket of snow.
Bobbi and George Williams, who run Mutuera Station near Gisborne, shot the video of their pet bounding through the heavy snowfall.
Normally bathed in sunshine, snow began falling yesterday around the Gisborne area and is still shivering in some of the coldest conditions in 75 years.
Heavy snowfall warnings for the hill country between Mohaka and Gisborne city were in place, but have since been lifted.
However, lighter snow showers are expected with another 5cm above 300 metres in the same area.
Meanwhile, the NZ Transport Agency says State Highway 2 from Wairoa to Gisborne is closed and motorists are advised to delay their travel.
