In the Far North today a $10 million deal has been done to extend Opua's marina, with hopes the project will generate millions more for the local economy.
Opua is the gateway to New Zealand for those sailing across the Pacific, but many of them never come ashore.
Today though was a win for the local economy. Far North Holdings has signed the contract to double the size of the marina within 18 months.
It's a boon for a region that's struggled with high unemployment and a much-needed boost for business.
