There are high hopes for a Kiwi actor who has just landed his first big role in Hollywood.
KJ Apa is already being compared to Tom Cruise, and he's only just turned 18.

The former King's College student has landed the lead role in the film A Dog's Purpose, based on the novel of the same name.
