Police have released CCTV footage showing the aggravated robbery of a liquor store in Auckland as they hunt the man responsible.
The Thirsty Liquor store – on the corner of Chivalry Rd and Diana Dr in Glenfield - was robbed on Wednesday night.
The video shows the owner of the store sitting behind the counter when a man comes in brandishing a large knife.
The man threatens the shopkeeper and she can be seen handing over money to him, which he puts in a backpack.
Police say a subsequent search for the offender by a police dog and handler was unsuccessful.
He is described as Caucasian, approximately 180cm tall, aged between 20 and 30, slim build with short blonde facial hair.
It is the second robbery in Glenfield this week after a man fitting a similar description entered the Harbour City Liquor Store on View Rd at around 3:45pm Sunday afternoon, threatening the shopkeeper with a knife and demanding money.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
In that incident, a shopkeeper was also forced to hand over money at knifepoint.
