On a day that's traditionally big for do-it-yourselfers, staff at 17 Bunnings stores are planning to walk off the job.
The company's planning to amend the current collective agreement, which had seen changes to start and finish times.
First Union's Maxine Gay says the strikes are inevitable, because talks have broken down.
"The only way that the workers can make their strong feelings known to the company, is by walking off the job."
The union's not naming the specific stores involved in the strikes.
