The man accused of a west Auckland murder is to go on trial.
Matthew Brian Edmonds, 46, is due in the High Court at Auckland today to defend a charge of murdering 50-year-old Petter Bettink, who was found dead at a property on Wairere Road, Waitakere, in November last year.
Edmonds also faces a charge of assault with intent to injure and male assaults female.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
