The wreckage of the helicopter which crashed on Fox Glacier has been recovered, the Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) has confirmed.
The remains of the aircraft are heading to the TAIC technical facility in Wellington for investigators to determine what caused the crash.
Three loads of wreckage were brought back from the glacier including rotor blades, transmission, engine, and the tail boom.
The helicopter crashed on Saturday, killing all seven people on board – two Australians, four British and the Kiwi pilot.
Four bodies were recovered earlier in the week but weather delayed getting the remaining three until yesterday.
The rescue team of 26 included members from Alpine Cliff Rescue, police and a drone team.
South Westland Alpine Cliff Rescue team leader Marius Bron said the recovery had been difficult on the glacier and crews had been on high alert the whole time.
Police say they are now onto the next stage of the operation.
