Police are pleased with behaviour at Auckland's Pride Parade, despite protesters stopping it at one stage.
Tens of thousands of people turned out last evening to watch the parade on Ponsonby Rd.
But the 'No Pride in Prisons' group faced off with police -- angry that police and Corrections Department staff marched.
They claim police are violent and Corrections policies contribute to physical and sexual violence against transgender and gay prisoners.
Police and Corrections Minister Judith Collins walked alongside uniformed off-duty police officers in the parade.
The parade restarted after about an hour of disruption.
