One lane has now been reopened, but motorists should expect delays, police say.

It’s the second road fatality this Easter, following a crash on SH77 in Methven where a car veered down a bank and into a tree.

The Easter holiday road toll began at 4pm on Thursday and ends at 6am on March 29. Last year one person died over the holiday period.
