A woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a vehicle in the Auckland suburb of Three Kings.
The accident occurred near the Three Kings Plaza shortly after midday.
Police have cordoned off the area and traffic is being redirected through a Countdown supermarket carpark.
Auckland Transport says Mt Albert Road is closed between Mt Eden and Dornwell Roads. Traffic is building in the area.
The woman hit was a pedestrian and has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
A police serious crash unit investigation is underway.
