McDonald's is rolling out an all-day breakfast menu across New Zealand tomorrow after trialling it in selected restaurants.

The all-day breakfast menu won't include all McDonald's breakfast items, but hotcakes, the bacon and egg McMuffin, NYC Benedict bagel, BLT bagel and hash browns will be available after 10:30am.

"Customers have been asking about breakfast after 10:30am for a long time. Based on the trial, our franchisees made the call to roll all-day breakfast out nationally," says McDonald's spokesperson Simon Kenny.

Meanwhile, food courts will be adopting an "all day menu", rather than switching from a breakfast to day menu. Under the all-day menu, options like burgers will be available before 10:30am.

Mr Kenny says "It's a solution for food courts that typically don't open until 9-10am, to help make things easier."

All-day breakfasts have been a feature of McDonald's in the United States since October 2015, and are available across Australia.

The overseas roll-out hasn't been seamless, with some employees complaining of increased workloads in terms of preparation and cleaning.

But Mr Kenny says the New Zealand trials have shown staff can manage the additional breakfast options.

"It also helps reduce the daily complexity of changing over from breakfast to the regular menu."

The all-day breakfast menu was trialled in Whangarei, Kamo and Frankton in Hamilton, as well as Albany, Massey Rd and Penrose in Auckland.
