All Black Aaron Smith has given an emotional statement to media in South Africa after being stood down over an incident in a public toilet.
"I've made a huge mistake, a huge error in judgement," he said.
Smith was caught entering a disabled toilet cubicle with a woman at Christchurch Airport on September 18, and witnesses heard the pair making loud noises for up to 10 minutes.
"I'd like to say a huge sorry to my partner Teagan, her family, my family," said Smith, near tears.
"I'm also sorry to my team-mates, NZRU, and the New Zealand fans - my behaviour is unacceptable, and if you could respect me and my partner in this situation - I'm just trying to get home to deal with this."
