If you take a look around your home, is there anything you would give an award to for good design?
Friday night will be the Oscars of the design industry, and gongs will be handed out to those who create everything from our food packaging and furniture to public spaces.
One of the nominations is Clark Bardsley's classy chair - even though it may seem to have a big design flaw.
The Ministry of Education also teamed up with designer Robert Whitaker to create a game to try and stop boys falling behind in reading and writing.
