An Auckland cafe owner has been left with a nasty surprise to deal with this Christmas - 40 tonnes of dirt dumped in front of his building.
A contractor left the load outside Exotic Sweets and Snacks on Friday after a business deal went sour.
Barry Hart from Central Trucking Limited says he had fun doing it, and he claims it was payback.
"It's wet clay, which doesn't smell good, which makes me feel better," he says.
He claims his company and others are owed a total of $88,000 for demolishing a building, including removing clay.
Mr Hart says after six weeks of chasing business owner Jaspal Singh for payment he decided to take some action.
"Returning clay is very easy to do - we loaded up four trucks, took them in, but it was good fun."
The Singhs have laid a complaint with police and they claim they have paid a large part of the bill - $68,000 for the work. They also claim the contractors threatened to kill them when they dumped the load. Police are investigating.
The video, posted on Facebook, has had masses of views.
Mr Hart says he decided not to take legal action because that would cost him around the same amount he's owed.
He's promising to keep dumping soil until the bill's paid.
"I have no qualms of repeating what I did if I don't get my money. If I have to tip off four trucks a week for 10 years, that's what I'll do."
