Rescue teams have been sent out again to search for a man missing in the Manawatu River on Friday morning.
The man was last seen around 6pm on Thursday. His female companion was rescued by emergency services, but the man was unable to be found.
The Police National Dive Squad, volunteer LandSAR, swift water rescue teams, and a helicopter are searching an area of the water around Fitzroy Bend in Palmerston North.
The river level has dropped and there is no wind this morning.
Police say the search is "fully resourced and the focus from Central District Police is on finding the man".
