Here we have an English broadcaster, Sir David Attenborough, touching down in the land of the long white cloud - and he's already had a close encounter with NZ's border security dogs. Extraordinary.
Attenborough is here for his live stage show A Quest for Life which looks at his career following the natural world. And it seems the naturalist has already had his first animal encounter with the country's Customs canines within minutes of landing here.
The Ministry for Primary Industries tweeted a photo of the BBC veteran with MPI officers and detector dogs.
The dogs, however, seemed less than starstruck with the 90-year-old's presence than the officers did.
A Quest for Life show is on at Auckland's Civic Theatre on Wednesday and Thursday.
A second show was announced after the first sold out soon after tickets were released.
