Auckland commuters should expect delays and cancellations to train services on Tuesday evening due to a track fault at Britomart.
The issue has now been fixed but Auckland Transport spokesperson Mark Hannan says the backlog may take a while to clear.
Auckland Transport said at about 4pm that the Onehunga line has been suspended, and a rail shuttle was in place between Penrose and Onehunga.
It said services are operating at a reduced frequency.
