A man has appeared in court charged with the attempted abduction of a woman in central Auckland.
The 30-year-old, who has been granted interim name suppression, entered no plea on charges of aggravated wounding, abduction for the purpose of unlawful sexual connection and indecent assault.
Police launched a manhunt on Monday after a woman aged in her 20s told them she had been grabbed from behind and forced into a car in Haslett St, Eden Terrace.

The woman jumped from the moving car soon after and managed to escape.
Police say she is recovering from the ordeal and is "very relieved" an arrest has been made.
The accused has been remanded in custody to reappear March 9th.
