MetService is closely monitoring a second tropical cyclone which could be heading towards New Zealand.
Cyclone Cook is expected to hit New Caledonia on Monday at category 3, before heading southeast towards New Zealand.
MetService says some of its computer models show it missing New Zealand, but others show it could hit here early next week.
There's currently a less than 50 percent chance it will reach the country.
Either way Kiwis are in for a wet Easter holiday, with another low expected to hit bringing a heavy rain warning for the Bay of Plenty between Wednesday and Friday.
WeatherWatch says unlike the recent Cyclone Debbie, Cook is "smaller and faster-moving".
"But in combination with another low in the Tasman Sea, it's one those potential set-ups where if you live in a flood-prone area or are an authority tasked with monitoring weather events, this is one worthy of keeping an eye on."
