Police are going door to door in the neighbourhood of missing Christchurch man Michael McGrath as the search continues for the 49-year-old builder.
A marked police car is parked on the corner of each street in and around the Checketts Ave area of Halswell.
McGrath's property in the area was the focus of investigations for several days last week as forensic investigators piece together his last movements.
Residents in the area said it's "scary".
Father of two, Scott Williams, lives near Michael McGrath and says the police presence in the past couple of weeks has him worried.
Police are remaining tight-lipped out their investigations.
A second grid search is underway on Wednesday morning in the Halswell area but police won't reveal where that is or how many people are involved.
On Tuesday police released images of Mr McGrath leaving with two bags of groceries from the New World supermarket in Halswell on May 19, two days before he disappeared.
It follows a public plea for information from police, who on Friday confirmed they're still hoping to find the 49-year-old builder alive.
"I am asking people to think back almost two weeks ago now to Sunday, the 21st of May, and forward of that day," says Christchurch police Detective Inspector Darryl Sweeney.
