There might be something in the water in Auckland's North Shore as a record number of twins are being born at the local hospital.
Five sets were birthed in recent days, including two on America's Cup morning - new parents Helen and Losi Kaliopasi had their wee boys just before the race.
"It's definitely surreal still, it's unbelievable," Mr Kaliopasi told Newshub.
Waitemata DHB obstetrician Adele Barr says just two percent of all live births in New Zealand are twins.
"It's been around five years since we've had this many twins on the ward," she said.
"Twins are great; they're so much fun - everything about them. It's a little stressful obviously during the pregnancy because there's a lot of monitoring to make sure both babies are okay because it's hard to see one baby over the other. But once they're out there they're just a joy, they're really are."
Mum Hazel Oxford says at the moment she's able to tell her twin identical boys apart.
"Because Niko's smaller it's quite obvious at this time. But when he (Taymon) catches up which won't take long I think it's going to be a challenge."
She and partner Cliff say the baby boys have been sleeping well.
"They were kind of born a bit early so they're meant to be still sleeping inside. But soon they'll be keeping us very busy," says Oxford.
New dad Matt Pearce said he's "probably most scared of trying to learn how to do some piggy tails".
He's not alone, many of these parents are all in the same boat - adjusting to life with newborns.
