A motorcycle crash in south Auckland has left two people in a critical condition.
The men in their mid to late 30s collided with a tree in Clendon Park around 4:40am on Saturday.
Senior Sergeant John Yearbury says residents on Finlayson Ave awoke to a loud bang, and scraping metal.
Residents on the street came out to find the badly damaged motorbike and the two men lying on the road.
"Police are trying to establish the cause of the crash. At this stage, I suspect speed is a probably a factor," he says.
