Workers heading to Auckland's North Shore from the city have been left frustrated this morning as a crash saw their commute to work made considerably longer.
A crash involving several vehicles at the base of the Harbour Bridge's northern side around 9:30am blocked two lanes heading to the Shore.
The crash has now been cleared and all lanes are open - but police are warning that it could take some time for traffic flows to return to normal.
They have advised disgruntled commuters to use the Northwestern and Southwestern motorways - including the Western Ring route - where possible.
Traffic at its peak was backed up as far as Greenlane - meaning the queue of traffic measured a distance of about 9km.
