The results are in for how different Auckland suburbs measure up in terms of car break-ins, and it's not the suburbs might you expect.
Crime statistics from Policedata.nz have revealed what areas have the highest number of car break-ins and thefts.
The area with the highest number of car break-ins from May 2017- July 2017 was Maungawhau, spanning between Sandringham Road and St Andrews Road to the north of Balmoral Road.

- Three Kings - 67
- Auckland Central East (Queen Street to Symonds Street) - 64
- Balmoral - 62
- Epsom Central (Epsom Avenue to Greenlane West) - 59
- Mt Eden North (View Road to Boston Road) - 56
- Manukau Central - 48
- Mangere South (Kirkbride Road to Bader Drive) - 40
- Parnell West (Stanley Street/The Strand to Gladstone Road) - 35
- Mt Eden East (Henley Road to the University of Auckland Epsom Campus) - 34
- Kingsland - 32
- One Tree Hill Central (Cornwall Park and surrounds) - 30
- Albany - 29
- Mt Wellington South (Penrose Road to Saleyards Road) - 28
- Auckland Harbourside (Wynyard Quarter to the end of Quay Street) - 27
- Point Chevalier East (Pt Chevalier Road to Meola Creek) - 27
- Onehunga South East (Selwyn Street to Victoria Street) - 26
- Orakei North (Tamaki Drive to Rukutai Street) - 26

No areas were free of break-ins for the three month period, however 40 suburbs only had one vehicle break-in, including Matakana, Sunnyhills, Paremoremo East and Bucklands Beach South.
