On a certain corner of the internet, there is a special genre of video called "ASMR videos".
The videos often show people making soft, quiet sounds, such as petting a pillow, tapping a phone screen gently or even eating certain kinds of food.
The videos intend to provoke an "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response", also known as a calm or relaxed feeling in certain viewers.
But opinions are divided about the veracity of ASMR's existence, with some scientists calling it made up, while a recent study found people who experience ASMR have different brain chemistry to others.
