A dramatic rescue has unfolded after a woman fell out of her kayak and became trapped on some rocks by the Huka Falls near Taupo.
The woman and a partner were kayaking through rapids on the Waikato River near the famous rapids when she fell out of her kayak.
Video taken of the accident shows the woman struggling to stay afloat before clinging to rocks after falling from her kayak.
Police were notified of the incident at 11:50am before a rescue helicopter was sent to extract her and she was transported to safety.
Police say that the woman is safe and well.
