The country's largest Christmas parade hit Queen St in Auckland on Sunday afternoon, with more than 4000 parade participants.
It was the 84th year of the Farmers Santa Parade. A spokesperson said it was a "blast", featuring Emirates Team New Zealand proudly manning a gigantic pirate ship.
"The massive inflatables were a highlight this year, and the children's jaws dropped when they saw their favourite characters from Madagascar, Thomas the Tank Engine and My Little Pony join the festive celebrations."
The parade started at 1pm, with roads in the CBD closed from 11am to 5pm.
Parade organisers said it was a treat for the whole family.
"Peppa Pig turned out a fantastic show at Santa's Party in Aotea Square post-parade and hundreds of children lined up for a meet-and-greet with Peppa."
The parade closed by welcoming Santa to Auckland as 1.7-kilometre-long event wound its way through the CBD.
