A man has drowned at a spa park in Taupō.
The man, believed to be a Korean national, drowned at the Otumuheke Stream Spa Park in Taupō, NZME reports.
Police confirmed they are responding to an incident on Spa Rd.
St John Ambulance were called to the park at about 12:30pm on Tuesday but were unable to revive the man.
He had been bathing alone and was found face down and unresponsive in a pool close to the Otumuheke Stream, NZME reports. Two tourists found the man and raised the alarm while performing CPR.
The thermal stream is freely available to the public and is popular with both tourists and locals.
Police told Newshub the man has been identified and they are working to contact his next of kin. The incident will be referred to the Coroner.
Arrangements are underway to have local iwi bless the site.
