David Jones, the leading Australian retailer, has confirmed it will open in Newmarket's new Westfield Mall in 2019.
Scentre Group has today announced that the $790 million redevelopment of Newmarket's Westfield Mall has begun.
The finished mall will include a Countdown, Farmers and more than 230 retail stores.
It will also feature rooftop dining and a cinema complex.
It is due to open at the end of 2019.
David Jones opened its first New Zealand story in Wellington in 2016.
David Jones CEO David Thomas said, "We know New Zealanders are well-travelled and fashion savvy with an appetite for international brands and world-class shopping experiences.
"We are focussed on exceeding these expectations. Our store will combine the best of New Zealand and international brands curated specifically for the discerning local market."
