An international report has revealed that while other countries' road tolls are going down, New Zealand's is skyrocketing.
In 2017 countries such as Japan and Australia had declining road tolls, but New Zealand's has skidded out of control, growing by 16 percent.
Truck driver Murray Croft says he sees atrocious driving every day.
"Every day, probably at the end of every passing lane it happens.
"It's almost an epidemic."
He said every crash had a ripple effect, hurting a number of families.
His one message to people on the road was to "slow down and grow old".
