It's the end of an era - the Girl Guides have announced there will soon stop selling their iconic biscuits.
"GirlGuiding New Zealand wants to allow its members and volunteers to focus more on its core purpose and programmes," the organisation said in a statement on Saturday.
"Following careful consideration and analysis, the GirlGuiding NZ Board has decided to stop fundraising through the sale of Guide biscuits by its membership."
The group has sold the biscuits for more than 60 years. They're expected to stay on sale until sometime early 2019.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to have manufactured the iconic Guide Biscuits for more than 60 years, and we are proud to have been a partner in this important fundraising initiative," said Griffin's managing director Brett Henshaw.
"Griffin's will endeavour to support GirlGuiding NZ in the future, and we wish them every success."
The announcement was made at the GirlGuiding national forum, taking place in Auckland this weekend.
"Our challenge is that we are well-known for our camps and biscuits, but we offer so much more than that," said CEO Susan Coleman.
"We enable girls and young women to develop into confident, adventurous and empowered leaders in their communities."
A survey two years ago found Girl Guide members rated body image the biggest issue they had to face in their lives.
