An 18-year-old has been arrested over an assault on an elderly man at an Auckland Pak'nSave.
The 74-year-old asked a group to stop throwing food and was punched in the face.
The elderly man suffered a broken nose.
"A very upsetting incident occurred at our Pak'nSave Clendon store," a company spokeswoman told NZME. "An elderly gentleman was attacked by a group of youths who were in the process of deliberately damaging stock on shelf."
Police say the man handed himself in following public scrutiny in the media.
