Serial rapist Malcolm Rewa has been denied parole.
In a statement, the Parole Board says it will not release the details behind its decision.
Rewa lost his bid to stop a third trial for the murder of Susan Burdett earlier this month.
Rewa was found guilty of raping 27 women, including Ms Burdett, in December 1998.
He was tried twice for the murder of Ms Burdett, but a stay in proceedings was issued after neither jury could agree on whether he was guilty.
Rewa is due to stand trial again in February next year. His next parole hearing has been set down for April 2020.
