A husband and wife are among six people who were caught for alleged drink driving in Paraparaumu in one night.
The woman, 55, went to pick up her husband, 54, at the alcohol checkpoint on Mazengarb Rd on Thursday night after he allegedly blew over the limit, NZME reports.
On arrival she was breath tested and found to have a higher breath alcohol reading than her husband.
The pair and four other drivers were all caught drink driving at the checkpoint within an hour and a half of each other.
Wellington Road Policing Manager Inspector Jan Craig said the woman' s actions were beyond belief.
