Three people have escaped a car as it flooded near Kaitaia.
Emergency services were called just before 7pm to reports of the trio trapped in the vehicle on Lake Ohia Rd.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the group managed to get out as the car was aquaplaning, and they are all okay.
