A Porirua woman has made an emotional plea to Housing New Zealand to evict gang member tenants causing chaos in her community.
Sala Nimarota says Mongrel Mob members living in a Housing NZ home in her community are making it unsafe for the rest of the community.
"I'm talking about the noise, dog control, the parties, these guys jumping on our gate - we told them not to jump on our gate," she told Three's The Project.
"They're running from police... speeding around the streets. One way or another, they're going to kill or rustle some kid if they don't stop speeding."
Ms Nimarota and other residents have felt intimidated by the residents on a number of occasions.
"[They have] Mongrel Mob gang patches and one was armed with a weapon, one of the group was a woman, all standing around in a circle facing each other," she said.
"I thought to myself, 'You guys are disturbing the peace'. We've got kids sleeping in this neighbourhood after 10 at night. This is unacceptable behaviour."
Everyone in the community wants peace, Ms Nimarota says.
"I would love to see Housing New Zealand evict them."
Housing New Zealand says they have spoken to the tenant in question and reminded her of her obligations as a tenant in regards to behaviour and respecting neighbours.
Ms Nimarota says moving out of her community is not an option.
"I don't want to move out of my neighbourhood - I was born and bred up in Cannons Creek," she explained. "I love Cannon Creek because it's all about community."
National Party housing spokesperson Judith Collins says she is going to personally bring the matter up with Housing Minister Phil Twyford.
"I'm going to stand up for Sala and her good neighbours who don't like having this criminal behaviour."
