New Zealand rapper Scribe has pleaded guilty to wilful damage however denies six other domestic-related charges.

Scribe, 39, whose real name is Malo Ioane Luafutu, denied charges of protection order breaches, assault on a woman and assault with intent to injure, when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Friday.

He first faced the charges in the Waitakere District Court earlier this month, but they were transferred to Christchurch.

Judge Callaghan remanded Scribe on bail until a case review hearing where he will face a judge-alone trial on September 27.

Outside court he told Newshub he did not like the media attention his case had garnered.

Scribe found fame in the early 2000s, his debut single 'Stand Up' winning Single of the Year at the 2004 New Zealand Music Awards.
