Dramatic footage has emerged of a tornado whipping through Ōhope and sending debris flying through the air.
The video shows the tornado picking up bits of roof and other trees as it makes its way towards the Surf & Sand beachfront wedding venue.

The recording stopped suddenly as a huge piece of corrugated roofing suddenly flies towards the videographer.
"The devastation to Surf & Sand venue has been substantial. No one harmed," the venue said in a post on Facebook.
"We will be further assessing the damage this morning and will contacting all guests that have future weddings and conference bookings with us. To our neighbours affected by the tornado, we can help coordinate clean-up today. "
Commenters said the footage, particularly the ending, was terrifying.
"I can see why you moved so quickly at the end! I'm glad no one was hurt," one person said.
"Oh no, that's really scary. Glad to hear no one was hurt," another wrote.
