Small Kiwi gin company Scapegrace have just hit the big-time and taken away a top international award for their gin.
The New Zealand duo attended the International Wines and Spirits Competition, shaking up more than just drinks with their Canterbury-made gin.
- Graham Norton to release gin with Kiwi twist
- Less than $10 - and now an International Wine Challenge winner
- Cheap supermarket gin rated best in the world
Mark Neal and Daniel McLaughlin received the highest honour any gin may hope for, beating out massive booze companies such as Gordon's and Tanqueray.
They walked away with an award for Best London Dry Gin
"I think it ruffled a few feathers," they told The Project on Wednesday night.
"We're just a little company from New Zealand - and after six years of working hard, we are really honoured to have won."
They pair say being told "you're dreaming" really only made them more determined to succeed.
And more success could well be on the horizon; Scapegrace will soon be seen on the shelves of bars and restaurants across the US, when they release it there later this year.
