'Mercedes Benz' hits bus in Auckland CBD

A car and bus collided on Auckland's Queen St on Friday night, leaving four people with serious injuries.

The collision happened at the intersection of Queen St and Victoria St West just before 7:50pm, police said.

The intersection was blocked for a couple of hours.

A witness told Stuff a Mercedes Benz crashed "head-on" with an InnerLink bus. The driver of the car, who was hurt, appeared to be in his 50s or 60s.

Of the four injured, one was reportedly treated at the scene and three taken to Auckland Hospital.

The serious crash unit is investigating.
